Welcome to our new volunteer Alexander Marcus "Marky"! This afternoon I left Marky alone for the first time with the house full of hyped up kids to take the older girls out shopping and was sort of like "okay dude, time to fend for yourself."

It's hard sometimes, isn't it? Love. The world. Trying to be zen and patient and loving and trusting that everything is okay and as it should be and the world will be just fine and so will all the children in it and the animals and the trees and rivers and so will all of the people that I love and care about.

You wouldn't believe how intense a marble tournament can be. Actually, now that I think of it, I would say that every major fight we've ever had in this house has been over marbles. I just LOVE finding them laying around and redistributing them to the underdogs.

On a freezing cold day last January, Juntara and I were sitting in our cozy little flat in London, when Nicholas walked in with a big french pastry cake, fresh and homemade from his French Bakery downstairs. He told us there was a lucky charm inside the pastry.

I'm noticing these days how fast they're all growing up. They have ideas and opinions and a lot to say. I mostly love how they look out for each other. What we have here is special and I feel grateful.
