Families as Partners in Health and Education
When parents and teachers are on the same team, children thrive. At Kopila Valley, education is a true partnership. Teachers, social workers, health workers, and parents form one united team working toward the same goal: happy, healthy, and supported kids.

To strengthen this connection, our Health and Wellness team is taking a fresh approach to family engagement. While our Family Development Program (FDP) offers deep, tailored support to specific households, we are expanding our reach so that all Kopila Valley School families have access to these learning opportunities. By focusing on one key topic at a time, we ensure that lessons around health, nutrition, and well-being are shared and practiced together—both at school and at home.
In August, 47 guardians joined us for integrated sessions on practical family health. Together, parents and our team covered essential everyday topics, including balanced nutrition, reducing junk food, disease prevention, WASH practices, immunization, family planning, and menstrual hygiene.

These gatherings are interactive spaces to exchange ideas, ask questions, and build confidence around accessing local health services.
Seeing parents lean in, ask insightful questions, and exchange ideas with our health staff was inspiring. When parents are empowered as active partners in their children’s growth, they lead positive changes that benefit the entire household.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, learned alongside us, and took these valuable lessons back to their dinner tables. Together, step by step, we’re building a stronger, healthier Kopila family!
