Kopila Valley Students Shine in Academic Competitions

At Kopila Valley School, learning continues beyond the classroom and into the community–recently, our students have been putting their knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills on full display.

To close out 2025, our Grade 9 and 10 students jumped enthusiastically into a Math and Science Quiz organized by our dedicated Math and Science Department teachers. The room was buzzing with excitement as students tackled challenging questions, worked as teams, and cheered one another on. With classmates filling the audience seats, the event was a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and the joy of learning.

Our older students have also been stretching their thinking on a regional stage. For the third consecutive year, Kopila Valley School proudly hosted the Regional Round of the Nepal Economics Olympiad (NEO) 2025. Students from Grades 11 and 12 joined peers from across Surkhet to dive deep into economics, sharpen analytical skills, and test their problem-solving abilities in a supportive but competitive environment. A career guidance session with CA (Chartered Accountant) Vijaya Thapa added an extra layer of inspiration, helping students imagine future pathways in economics and finance.

Most recently, Kopila Valley students stepped confidently into the world of diplomacy at the SOS HGS Surkhet Model United Nations (MUN) 2026, the first inter-school MUN of its kind in the district. Representing Grades 9–11 (along with one proud alumnus on the International Press team), our students joined 42 participants from seven schools to debate global issues—from peace and security to the role of AI in today’s world.

The results were powerful. Students gained confidence in public speaking, strengthened research and negotiation skills, and deepened their sense of global citizenship. Student Anjili earned the award of Best Delegate, and student Sunite earned Honorable Mention. As one student shared, “After being part of SOS MUN, I have noticed positive changes within myself. My confidence has grown more than before.”

Moments like these remind us why we do this work: our students aren’t just learning facts—they’re becoming thoughtful leaders, brave speakers, and engaged global citizens. We couldn’t be prouder.
