Tope Bahadur Malla Receives National Social Welfare Award

Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj is proud to announce that Tops Bahadur Malla, Co-Founder and Managing Director, has been honored with the National Social Welfare Award 2024.

This award is presented by Season Media for Mr. Malla’s dedication, contribution, and remarkable achievement in promoting the social welfare of his fellow citizens.

Mr. Malla founded Kopila Valley Children’s Home and Kopila Valley School along with Maggie Doyne, beginning in 2007. Having lost his own parents at a young age, he has built a career supporting children and previously served for over 15 years at Ramana’s Garden, a project for Nepali refugees in India. He made the brave decision to move home to his community to begin the home and school in order to address the needs of children in Surkhet. He now oversees all of Kopila Valley’s program operations and community outreach to reduce poverty, empower women, improve health, and encourage sustainability and social justice.

Mr. Malla is known for his dedication, kindness, and commitment to serving others. About his work to empower children at Kopila Valley, he says, “Children have boundless potential. When the present world seems too frustrating, knowing that we are cultivating tomorrow’s changemakers gives me hope. They light up our world.”

According to Season Media, this prestigious Social Welfare Award is designed to recognize and applaud individuals who have not only excelled in their professional endeavors but have also made substantial contributions to various social causes. The focus is on those who have demonstrated a commitment to societal welfare, both during and after establishing their businesses. It’s a platform to celebrate their multifaceted achievements, bridging the gap between entrepreneurial success and meaningful societal impact.

Kopila Valley is pleased to highlight Mr. Malla’s work and his entire team, who have developed a model for quality education and compassionate community development.
