Kopila Valley School Celebrates Global Recognition as World’s Best School Finalist
SURKHET, NEPAL – Kopila Valley School, a project of the BlinkNow Foundation, hosted a joyful celebration on June 18, bringing together students, teachers, caregivers, and community members to honor a major moment in the school’s journey. The event, filled with pride and excitement, marked the announcement of Kopila Valley as a Top 10 Finalist in the Environmental Action category of the World’s Best School Prize, an initiative of T4 Education.
The festivities featured traditional and modern student dance performances, heartfelt remarks from Co-founder Top Bahadur Malla and Principal Rajen Karki, and a dramatic countdown to the official video announcement. Parents, partners, and friends of the school joined the celebration, cheering as the news was revealed.
School Co-founder Tope Bahadur Malla said this is the first time a school from Nepal has been listed in the world’s Top 10 schools for its efforts in environmental conservation.”We have taken this achievement as a matter of pride for all Nepalis,” he said, expecting everyone’s support to prove the school the best.
Kopila Valley was honored for its model of environmental leadership, including a sustainable campus, student-led climate action, and a strong emphasis on environmental education. The school is also mentoring and inspiring others across the region to take action for a greener, more sustainable future.
