Building Futures: The Kopila Café
As we reflect on the impact you have made this year, we are particularly proud of the launch of the Kopila Café at Kopila Valley School.
On August 16, the Kopila Café opened its doors, offering students an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience. Managed by two remarkable young people, alongside the dedicated Kopila Valley staff team, the café buzzed with excitement on its inauguration day. Guests enjoyed handcrafted beaded bracelets and indulged in cold coffee, pancakes, and pudding cake—all prepared and served by the students themselves.
This vibrant new space isn’t just a café; it’s a learning hub where students develop practical business skills, teamwork, and confidence.
It’s also an extension of our Futures Program, which is vital in preparing students for life beyond Kopila Valley. These experiences help them gain practical skills in business management and customer service and create a strong work ethic.
These qualities will serve young graduates well as they pursue careers, higher education, or entrepreneurial ventures.
Many Kopila Valley students are the first in their families to go to school. This means the transition from school to the next chapter of their lives can be daunting. The Futures Program bridges this gap by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to navigate adulthood with resilience and independence.
