“I am always thankful that I took Management class in +2. Now that I am enrolled in a College pursuing a BBM (Bachelors in Business Management) Degree, I can see my paths much clearer.”

Alina graduated from Kopila Valley School in 2022. In conversation about her journey, Alina mentions that she was always fascinated by bank clerks. She loved the challenges they took on and how cohesively they worked. It was when she interned at a renowned cafe, Karma Coffee, that she discovered her new passion for taking business challenges under pressure. She says that challenges bring out the best in her. 

Recounting her journey to VS International College, Alina recalls that she visited many colleges in Kathmandu and even considered studying something else. After many distressed moments and changed plans, Alina settled for BBM. Feeling ‘completely overwhelmed’ when it was time for her to think about the future, she fell into her stride when she went to Kathmandu. 

Alina feels the weight of her decisions very deeply. “It’s very important for me to succeed in life. I have a single mother who roots for me every single day and people who got me where I am. I have received so much in life, and I can’t just throw that away.” 

Among the many fond memories Alina has of Kopila Valley, rooftop chats with her sisters hold strong in her memory. When you’re miles away from your home at college, it can get lonely, but for Alina her driven passion to achieve her goals is what keeps her going. 

By choosing to study BBM, she wishes to continue her journey into business. 

“I have just begun. It has only been a few months since I joined my college. I’ll tell you, I have so much to learn and so much to see. I am taking it all, one step at a time. On days when I feel under the cloud, I restore myself by having alone time. I believe in myself the most. There are going to be times where you must allow yourself to breathe and take a break. ”

Alina’s journey to college may have come with a lot of exploration, decisions, and challenges, but it is a significant milestone that provides opportunity for personal and professional growth. Her new journey is as nerve-wracking as it is equally thrilling. It’s amazing to see what an impact she is going to bring in this world. We cannot wait to see what kind of gems she unfolds in her life.
