We Made It!

Yesterday morning we got on a super smooth flight from Kathmandu to Surkhet.

I was so excited when we were about to land and I could recognize all the familiar sights of our little town with everyone's rice paddies being planted this week.

Tope and Libby came to pick us up at the airport in Scorpio and drove us home.

Before I knew it we were walking up the dirt rode on our way to the school where all the kids were playing at recess.  We didn't make it make it half way down the road before all of a sudden kids started pouring out the gate and stampeding towards us in a sea of green uniforms.  I was so overwhelmingly happy all I could do was start sprinting towards them as fast as I could.  I can't remember who I hugged first but before I knew it I was walking through the gate with 250 kids surrounding me.

It was a half an hour of madness and screaming and hugs and kisses and flowers and welcome home letters and red tika all over my forehead!

It is so good to be back.  I will share the luggage saga with you soon.  Our bags are still locked up in the cargo office and the airport in Kathmandu but I'm sure we can get them back.  It's just a matter of a lot of time and paperwork.  I'll be working on it.  In the meantime we're doing just fine and are just so happy to be back.
