Second Annual Tri For Kopila

Ravi and I have arrived back in the U.S.A. for the 2nd annual #TriForKopila this weekend!!! Our last couple months in Nepal have been busy, busy, busy, and poor Ravi has been battling back-to-back ear infections and pink eye so we’re laying low, recovering from our jet lag, eating lots of grapefruit, and doing last minute preparations for the big race. Both of my sisters are flying in from the west coast this year to run the race and my mom is racing too. Even my 83 year old grandma is doing the TRI. Just kidding, she’ll be at the finish line cheering and holding Ravi though.

What Will You Do With Your Hands?

In the past couple months, Nepal has experienced a series of tragic earthquakes. The damage and loss is unimaginable. Thankfully, in Surkhet, we only felt tremors and our home and community were left unharmed. An outpouring of support came from all over the world asking if we were okay, asking how everyone could help while we were all sitting here asking ourselves the same thing. What do we do? Our hearts ached for the people and the country we love and yet we felt stuck, immobilized, in not knowing exactly what we could do.

Nepal Earthquake: We’re Safe

A 7.9 earthquake hit the Kathmandu region of Nepal on Saturday, April 26. We felt only a few minor tremors here in Surkhet; rest assured that all of our staff & kids are safe. We're hundreds of kilometers away from the epicenter. All of our buildings are intact and our community was thankfully unharmed.
