“Start Where You Are, With What You Have…”

“Don’t wait for something big to occur. Start where you are, with what you have, and that will always lead you into something greater.” - Mary Manin Morrissey

I am back in Surkhet now. Things are good but busy. There’s lots of work to do on the house to get ready for our official move in. Above is a picture of what will soon be our kitchen. We are moving slowly but surely. I have a new theory I call, ‘Nepali time.’ One hour means four hours, later this afternoon means tomorrow, and later this week means, sometime next week. Interesting I ended up in this country, considering I am admittedly one of the most impatient people I know. Right now we are sleeping in the house but there is no glass in the windows, no light, water, or electricity. There are construction remnants everywhere. Some people suggested that I change the picture on the website, and choose a “better, fresher” looking picture. Well, sorry folks, but this is what our house looks like right now. We’re living on a construction site.

It’s really cold at night, so my last minute decision to put a small fireplace in our main entrance room turned out to be a really good one! Every night after dinner we sit by the fire, read, study and sing songs. Life is good.
