CNN Heroes - Vote Every Day!

Thursday, October 08, 2015

AHHHH!!! Guess what??!? We were named one of CNN’s Top Ten heroes of the year! I am teary eyed, humbled, and so filled with joy. This recognition belongs to our entire Nepali team here on the ground (80 strong) of teachers, administrators, & caregivers. It also belongs to our community here in Surkhet, our family of supporters around the world, and this beautiful & resilient country of Nepal. My little heroes are the children in our home and school who have endured and persevered and hold the future in their hands. Thank you to all who helped us reach this point!

We would love your support in voting for our project to win the top $100,000 prize: Heroes.CNN.com (you can vote once a day, every day through November 15!).

Every year, CNN announces 25 heroes who are "individuals who make extraordinary contributions to humanitarian aid and make a difference in their communities." Out of those 25, they name the Top Ten, each of whom then has the chance to win the prestigious "Hero of the Year" title, chosen by popular vote, which comes with a $100,000 prize. Earlier this year, we were named in the 25 heroes, and just a few minutes ago we received news that we were in the Top Ten!

We're so excited! Help us spread the word!
