An Exciting Match

Wow. What a year!  Just a blink after celebrating our first class of graduates from the women’s center, a tiny miracle arrived at our door. Baby Ravi was 2 months old, undernourished and only 5.5 pounds.  With lots of love, hope, medical attention and helping hands, his bright smile and chubby cheeks are now the delight of our home.  Just after Ravi arrived, a few raindrops turned into devastating floods that displaced thousands from their homes. Thanks to your overwhelming support, we were able to clothe, shelter and feed these refugees while they rebuilt their lives.

Through it all, our beautiful home, project, and life in Nepal are bursting at the seams.  Our baby is healthy, our amazing teens are navigating their way into young adulthood, and everyone in between is blossoming. The days are full. Our dinner table, hearts, and to-do lists are overflowing.

Every morning, the sunny yellow school bus winds its way around the valley picking up nearly 400 of the most needful children in our community. School has become the center of our community.  Here we provide our students with the basics: a healthy meal, medical care, and a nurturing and safe environment in which to learn.  Our school expanded to 10th grade this year! We now think ahead to the task of preparing our students for adulthood. Like any puzzle, we are pulling together the pieces and thoughtfully studying the work that still needs to be done.

Construction is underway on our 3-acre dream campus, a sustainable and permanent location for our growing community.  Our new campus will include a daycare and preschool, 16 new classrooms, a vocational center, counseling center, community health clinic, library, and technology center.

Your enduring support allows us to cross milestones, reach goals, thrive through the unexpected, and dream even bigger.  Each of you — supporters, advisors, cheerleaders, care-givers, teachers, and friends – are part of our family.

Please help us to sustain and grow our work and care for our children. This holiday season, thanks to a generous donor, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $100,000.

Warmest wishes for peace, joy, and love in the New Year.
